Inspired by Wassily Kandinsky’s multicoloured abstraction and Zaha Hadid’s layers of architecture, the Lezley George Spring Summer 08 collection is an exciting mix of unique textures and unexpected yet easy shapes.
Long and narrow skirts and dresses in luxurious washed silks combined with a slouchy rock n’ roll attitude give the uncompromisingly unique garments a 70s deluxe feel. Relaxed smock tube skirts and silk kimonos offer wearable modernity, while pretty petal appliqué and rosebud details add a three dimensional quality to their ornamental femininity.
Lazer printed layers of silk create webs of colourful lightness, star embroidery on soft chiffon and feather light tulle combines glam rock patterns with a delicate fairy tale look.
The fresh colour palette ranges from clear sky blue and lime to spicy saffron orange, hot creole red and deep ruby with metallic neutrals and jet black for a hint of cool sophistication.
